Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to reveal the place and importance of the concept of dialectic in the philosophies of Plato and Hegel. Hegel's position has been taken as the center in this study of dialectic, which is important for both philosophers. For this reason, it is aimed to examine Hegel's dialectic in the first part; Plato's dialectic in the second part; and Hegel's interpretations – which are based on Hegel's "Lectures on The History of Philosophy" of Plato's dialectic in the third part. With this purpose, in the first part, the context of dialectic in Hegel's philosophy is revealed. In this context, firstly, the development of his philosophy was followed, and the references of the dialectic were made clear in this development. Secondly, Hegel's understanding of 'philosophy' and the relevance of dialectic are evaluated. Thirdly, it is discussed what dialectic is on the context of the dialectic in Hegel's philosophy, and it is aimed to show the dialectic through its applications in Hegel's philosophy. Finally, the main interpretations of Hegel's dialectic are discussed. In the second part, similarly, the context of Plato's dialectic is revealed. In this context, firstly, the basic dynamics in the emergence of philosophy in Ancient Greece were evaluated through 'polis-mythos-logos-dialectic'. At this point, the importance of philosophies of Heraclitus and Parmenides has been revealed in terms of transition to Plato's dialectic. In the continuation of this, secondly, the view of dialectic of in sophists and Socrates are discussed in terms of understanding Plato's dialectic. Finally, Plato's dialectic is discussed. In the last part, Hegel's program was followed to a large extent, Hegel's interpretations of Plato's dialectic are opened to discussion. In this context, firstly, the basic ideas of the sophists and Socrates are revealed. Secondly, Plato's dialectic is discussed based on the comparisons with the sophists and Socrates. At this point, three dialogues -Parmenides, Sophist, Philebus- that Hegel put forward in his evaluation have been decisive. At the end of this part, Hegel's analysis of Plato's dialectic is evaluated in comparison with the second part. In summary, it is aimed to reveal the basic aspects of Hegel's dialectic in the first part and the basic aspects of Plato's dialectic in the second part, to highlight the similarities and distinctions of Plato's and Hegel's dialectics through the last part. Key Words : Plato, Hegel, Dialectic, Method, Logic, Speculation
