Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to synthesize polybenzoxazines and to prepare sol-gel hybrid polymers containing different proportions of tetraethylorhotitanate (TEOT) and thermally investigate these polymers and use them as precursor for further applications. In this study, at first, different polybenzoxazines were synthesized from bisphenol-A, paraformaldehyde, 1,2-diaminoethane, 1,4-diaminobutane, 1,6-diaminohexane, 1,8-diaminooctane, 1,10-diaminodecane and 1,12-diaminododecane by condensation polymerization in the presence of solvent. Synthesis was performed in chloroform at room temperature. Then, cross-linked polymers were obtained as a result of ring opening reaction after curing these polymers at 120 °C and 240 °C. Synthesized polymers using 1,12-diaminododecane were divided into four equal parts by volume. Finally, in the hydrochloric acid medium, different proportions of TEOT 1%, 3%, 5% and 10% by volume were added these polymers and hybrid polymers were obtained at room temperature with sol-gel method. Added hydrochloric acid was preferred an equivalent amount of by volume with TEOT. KEYWORDS: Benzoxazine, polybenzoxazine, sol-gel hybrid.
