Abstract (EN)
In this study, bending and failure behavior of filament wound composite materials has been investigated by using parallel plate compression tests. Cylindrical composite tubes had been manufactured with three different winding angles ([±45], [±55], [±65]) by using glass fiber /epoxy resin. Lateral compression tests (according to ASTM D 2412 test standard) were performed on specimens between two parallel plates. All data obtained from tests were shown in graphs and charts to compare winding angle affects. While increasing of winding angle, the strength of sample was increased but flexibility of sample was reduced. Experimental results showed that as expected, mechanical properties of specimens strongly dependent on filament winding angle.
