Abstract (EN)

Every new product, every new tool and equipment that emerges as a result of technological advances that make our lives easier can also be considered as a hazard in terms of workplace safety, environment and human health. Safe and rapid development largely depends on a healthy working environment. Reducing the problems that prevent the development of the modern world as a result of loss of labor and production due to work accidents and occupational diseases that occur in the production process is possible with the importance given to occupational health and safety training and practices. Polymer technology provides the biggest contribution to the Turkish economy. Unfortunately, various health problems arise along with this rapid growth in the plastics industry. Within the scope of the thesis, the toy manufacturing sector has been examined in terms of occupational health and safety. The toy manufacturing industry, which is examined in this context, is important in that it not only concerns the employees, but also closely concerns the health of our children, to whom we entrust our future. By mentioning the polymers used in toys, the risks that arise in polymer technology are discussed as physical, chemical and biological factors, and the diseases that occur during the manufacture or use of polymers are examined. Methods of protection from these diseases and risks have been researched. In addition, 10 different types of toys offered for sale in the Turkish market were collected and phthalate analysis was performed and the results were evaluated.
