Abstract (EN)

In this study, the usage of the modified conducting polypyrrole polymer as a biosensor was investigated for the determination of biological species. For this purpose, firstly, molecularly imprinted polypyrrole (MIP) film electrodes were prepared by electrochemical polymerization and their recognition properties for paracetamol and ascorbic acid investigated. Several important parameters controlling the performance of the MIP film electrodes were optimized. The MIP film electrodes exhibited a high selectivity and sensitivity toward paracetamol and ascorbic acid. Then, these electrodes were used for determination of paracetamol and ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical samples. In the second part of the thesis, overoxidized polypyrrole nanofiber film was electrochemically prepared and modified with cobalt(II) phthalocyanine tetrasulfonate (Co-FTS). The electrochemical performances of the Co-FTS modified electrodes were investigated with differential pulse voltammetry method. The modified electrodes exhibited a high selectivity and sensitivity toward glucose in the presence of electroactive interfering substances. Usefulness of these electrodes was also tested for the determination of glucose in serum samples. The results show that molecularly imprinted and Co-FTS modified polypyrrole electrodes can be used as a biosensor in analytical purposes in the determination of paracetamol, ascorbic acid and glucose. Keywords :Polypyrrole, Biosensor, Electrocatalysis, Paracetamol, Ascorbic Acid, Glucose
