Investigation of physical activity durations in candidates preparing for Police Vocational Training Center physical exam

The aim of this study is to examine the physical activity score of who is preparing for the police parkour exam and the relationship between this score and some demographic characteristics. The long form of the international physical activity questionnaire was used to determine the physical activity score. 399 individuals who participated in the research voluntarily. Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test and Spearman correlation were used to examine the relationships between some demographic characteristics and total physical activity score. The mean age of the candidates who wanted to become a police officer and prepared for it was found to be 24.08±3.10, mean height (cm) 169.27±6.56, and body weight (kg) 63.68±9.86. Statistically significant relationship was found between the total physical activity score and the average age also total physical activity score and body weight (kg) of the candidates who wanted to become a police officer. However there was no statistically significant relationship between the total physical activity score and the height(cm). No statistically significant relationship was found between the total physical activity score and gender, education status, marital status, smoking status, alcohol use status and household income status in candidates who want to become a police officer. Sitting physical activity score, on the other hand, was found to be statistically significantly correlated with smoking and alcohol use. The total physical activity score was found to be 4020.04±3725.78, which is in the category of intense physical activity. The significance level was accepted as 0.05 in the study.
