Abstract (EN)
This dissertation discusses Carl von Clausewitz's thought of war philosophically. Apart from being a successful general, thanks to the theory of war he has formed, Clausewitz is a significant thinker in terms of political philosophy, as supported in this study. Despite the fact that Clausewitz has not been used the term "dialectics", his thought of war's similarity to the method of G. W. F. Hegel is salient. Both thinkers consider war as an inevitable act between states which holds political, sociological, and psychological aspects. Although Clausewitz is a general; when he thinks about war, he has been utilized different theories rather than only relying on his previous experiences. Thus, the primary purpose of our study is to demonstrate why Clausewitz should be considered as a political thinker as well as being a military theorist and to explain what are the intellectual similarities between Clausewitz and Hegel. Besides, our secondary purpose is to mention the impact of Clausewitz's thoughts on his followers and opponents.
