Özet (EN)
This thesis investigates whether fiscal rules have an effect on voting behavior using a data set covering the period between 1995 and 2015. Member and candidate countries in the European Union are used for analysis. The results show that, in the case of fiscal rules, manipulation making by politicians to win an election does not impact election results. In other words, political budget cycles producing by politicians to win elections induce voters to support parties less.
