Critical discourse analysis of political maecenate and usage of satire: Political communication with the authority by examining models of Nef'i & Engin Ardic

This study examines the strategic continuity under the terms of power and culture, through the specific models of a poet, Nef'i from late classical era of the Ottoman Empire, in comparison to his successor, a contemporary writer/ columnist Engin Ardic from modern Turkish Republic. Both artists, whom are the the most successful bearers of the symbolic power of culture, served the institutional culture dynamics effectively and used precisely the same political communication skills as powerful agents within the concept of satire. "Siham-i Kaza" (Arrows of Qada [meaning the performance of an action in its predetermined time]), the collection of Nef'i's satirical poetry, was the written form of the act of attacking the leading power centers and even his existance's equal to the balance of power in the Turkish political play. His strength in writing and efficient social analyse capability of gifted writer Engin Ardic has the exact same roots those provided Nef'i, though they are there to be vaporized by the mutualistic details of modernity and public spheres or Bourdieusian fields, given by different societies, spheres of influence, group, mob or grass roots. Complex acts of shaping the intelligentsia through the ages by the equivalent authorities and similarities of cultural practises led geniuses misuse their cultural capitals, which also means the misusage or sacrifice of the human capital, in different eras. In order to analyse problems within the boundaries of the theme "media ownership", utilizing the image that contains both artists was necessary. Artifacts are accepted as archetypal medium fragments: not only the main elements of the sociocultural texture, but also the dominant remains of the sociopolitical centers of power drawn with and evolved into symbols. Thus, the intertextuality of satire poems and statements composed with offensive words, even slang and curse, were to be considered as datas of the news.
