Abstract (EN)
In this study, the uptake of six different heavy metals that can be detected in automotive and metallic industry by adsorption using polyurea-polyamine resins, adsorption isotherms and kinetics were investigated. Also the resins were used to remove heavy metals from the automotive industry wastewaters.The resins were synthesized from reaction of toluen diisocyanate with trieetilene tetraamine (TETA) and pentaetilene hegzaamine (PEHA). The products were characterized by using FT-IR and elemental analysis.By using batch method, the effect of pH, adsorbent dose, contact time and initial concentration are investigated on adsorption. Adsorption results are applied to Langmiur and Freundlich isotherm equations and Pseudo-first-order and Pseudo-second-order kinetic models.Maksimum adsorption capacities of TETA and PEHA from Langmiur isotherms are 52.356 and 55.555 for Cu(II), 47.847 and 47.847 for Cr(III), 40.486 and 46.083 for Cr(VI), 7.503 and 16.234 for Cd(II), 4.112 and 7.441 for Ni(II), 16.778 and 20.883 mg/g for Zn(II), respectively.As results of isotherm and kinetic investigations, the adsorption by both resins are fitted well to Langmiur isotherm adsorption and Pseudo second order kinetic model which describes chemisorptions.The adsorption studies of the mixed synthetic samples showed that the adsorption decreased a little in the presence of other ions.The adsorption of the heavy metal ions from the wastewater obtained from Hyundai- Assan Factory by TETA and PEHA resins are 75.86% and 68.96% for total chromium, 98.34% and 86.10% for nickel, 98.62% and 98.77% for zinc, respectively.
