Abstract (EN)

Rapid increase in population, urbanization, proliferation of industrial areas and protection of water resources have gained critical importance. With the increase in environmental pollution levels, the amount of macro and micro elements in the water has also increased. Macro and micro elements are important because they can accumulate in living and non-living assets, settle into living environments, and pass through other forms of life (eg food chains). In this study, it had been taken monthly water samples from seventeen sampling station along river in between 2016 – 2017 from Porsuk River (Eskişehir). Some of macro (Ca, Mg, Na, K) and micro (Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Ni) elements were examined from received samples and evaluated with respect to national / international water quality legislations. The levels of the elements were determined by the EPA Method (7000b) and atomic absorption spectrophotometer. At the end of the analyzes, it has been observed that other elemental levels other than iron and zinc elements generally do not exceed the limit values.
