Urınary ıncontınence prevalence and rısk factors ın postmenoposal women

The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women. This descriptive study was conducted with postmenopausal women who applied to the outpatient clinics of Hitit University Çorum Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital for treatment and control purposes. The population of the study consists of postmenopausal women between the ages of 40-65 living in Çorum. It was decided that at least 234 postmenopausal women should be included in the study and 320 women were reached. The data obtained in the research were evaluated with the SPSS 20 statistical package program. The fact that the groups in the frequency distributions were not homogeneously distributed was investigated using the Chi-Square test. Normality analyzes were examined in detail with Komogrow Smirnov test, Shapiro Wilk test, Skewness coefficient, Kurtosis coefficient, Histogram, Box Chart operations, and it was seen that the variables did not meet the normality assumptions to a large extent. Like this; Analyzes were performed using the Mann-Whitney U test in pairwise comparisons and the Kruskal-Wallis test in the comparison of more than two groups. Descriptive statistics were obtained by calculating median, arithmetic mean and standard deviation so that the median value was interpreted first, since the assumption of normality was not provided. In conclusion, in our study, it was determined that estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women affects urinary incontinence in women, risk factors and ICIQSF scale mean scores of women with urinary incontinence were 42.2% and the relationship between them was strongly positive (p<0.05).
