Abstract (EN)

The problem of presenteeism is that individuals go to work despite not being able to devote themselves completely to their work. Individuals experience presenteeism due to various reasons such as health problems, stress, length of service and age; the underlying reason for individuals going to work in this situation is workaholism or, fear of becoming unemployed. Studies are being conducted to prove that there is a lack of productivity in businesses where employees experience presenteeism. Organizational commitment is the name given to the efforts employees make to achieve their organization's goals due to the sense of loyalty and belonging they feel to the organizations they are a part of. Therefore, it is thought that organizational commitment is low in work organizations where the majority of employees experience presenteeism. With the increasing importance of contemporary management approaches, the importance given to these concepts is increasing day by day. In this research, it was aimed to examine the effect of presenteeism on organizational commitment. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 192 personnel working at the Sason District National Education Directorate in Sason district of Batman province, who constituted the sample of the research. The purpose of the study was to evaluate whether work-oriented presenteeism and psychologically oriented presenteeism have an effect on emotional, normative and continuance commitment. As a result of the study, it was seen that there is a linear relationship between presenteeism and organizational commitment, but it can be said that presenteeism does not have a positive or negative effect on organizational commitment.
