Abstract (EN)
Aim: The progression of chronic kidney disease due to the effects of various risk factors. Proteinuria is one of the most important of these risk factors. So far, a limited number of studies which research the effect of proteinuria to renal disease's progression were found. We aimed to investigate the effects of proteinuria to renal progression in patients with chronic renal failure. Materials and Method: Tests which are necessary to our investigation are obtained from the file archive department and hospital automation system in İnönü University, Turgut Özal Medical Center. Patients approvals were obtained. The patients' name, surname, age, sex, file number, phone number, job, date of onset of the disease and date of biopsy, the cause of renal failure, comorbid diseases, drugs were registered to the study form. GFR was calculated through the Www.mdrd.com. Findings: For this study 182 patients were used. 77 of them were men and 105 of them were women. 108 patients were diagnosed with primary glomerulonephritis, 74 patients were diagnosed with secondary glomerulonephritis. Considering the relationship between proteinuria and GFR in patients, proteinuria was detected a significant decrease, GFR was increased. The decline of GFH in patient with nephrotic proteinüria was found to be more than the patients with nonnephrotic proteinüria. Regarding the relationship between the level of proteinuria and serum albumin, serum albumin levels decreased with increasing proteinuria was observed. Result: Proteinuria in patients with chronic renal failure is an important indicator of progression. There is an opposite relationship between the proteinuria and GFR. The proteinuria is an important parameter for follow-up of patients with chronic renal failure.
