Examination of chrismatic leadership perceptions regarding the trainers of professional football players according to different variables

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of charismatic leadership perceptions of professional football players about their coaches according to different variables. A total of 509 professional football players, who play active football in different league levels of the Turkish Football Federation, participated in the research voluntarily. Personal information form created by the researcher and the Charismatic Leadership Scale (CLS) consisting of 10 dimensions and 35 items developed by Veli Onur Çelik (2013) were used as data collection tool in the research. Since the data analyzed with the SPSS 26.0 package program showed normal distribution, the 'Independent Sample T-Test' was used in paired group comparisons, and the 'One-Way Analysis of Variance' was used in multi-group comparisons, as well as the Tukey test, one of the Posthoc tests. The results were interpreted according to the 05 significance level. When the scale analysis results are examined, it has been detected that there is a significant difference in athletes' perception of charismatic leadership about their coaches according to the age variable, the income level difference between the football player and the coach, the variable of professionalism, the league they play, the year they work with the team trainers, the annual income level of the players, the education level variable and the position they play.
