Abstract (EN)

The glandula prostatica, located under the vesica urinaria, is responsible for the nutrition, transportation of spermatozoa and the production of seminal fluid. This fluid ensures the healthy functioning of spermatozoa cells and is therefore important for fertility in men. This retrospective study was conducted to compare the prostate gland volumes obtained from ultrasound images with the volume values obtained with the ITK-SNAP program. For this purpose, the prostate gland images of 150 male individuals between the ages of 20 and 90 were evaluated three-dimensionally after being segmented. The conformity of the data to normal distribution was analyzed with the Shapiro-Wilk test. The Japs 0.18.3 program was used in the analysis, the Python 3.8.8 compiler and the Jupyter Notebook 6.4.6 editor were used in drawing the graphics. As a result, it was determined that the ITK SNAP program can be used as a reliable and sensitive measurement method in measuring the glandula prostatica volume and provides a significant advantage compared to the ultrasonography method.
