Abstract (EN)

AIM: Aim of this study was to evaluate validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Workplace Well‐Being of Psychological Practitioners Scale. METHOD: This research is of methodological type and the data belonging to the research were collected through an online questionnaire from 302 psychological practitioners working in any institution as psychiatry assistants, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. Personal Information Form and Turkish form of Workplace Well‐Being of Psychological Practitioners Scale, General Health Questionnaire-12 and Life Satisfaction Scale were used as data collection tools. "Translation-back translation method" was used in the translation of the scale. Content Validity Ratio and Content Validity Index were calculated according to the Lawshe technique, taking the opinion of 11 experts. In evaluating the validity of the scale; exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and convergent validity analysis were applied. In evaluating the reliability of the scale; item-total score correlations, Cronbach alpha and Guttman Split Half coefficients, and test-retest reliability coefficient were calculated. Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis tests and Spearman correlation analysis were used to evaluate the variables related to the scale total score. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied in the multivariant analysis of the data. RESULTS: After the scale translation is completed; Content Validity Index was calculated as 0.66. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin coefficient was 0.926 and Bartlett sphericity test was significant (p<0.001). As a result of the Exploratory Factor Analysis, 5 items (items 1, 18, 19, 20 and 23) in the scale were excluded from the scale because they were included in more than one factor and the difference between the loads given to the factors was less than 0.10. It was observed that the remaining 21-item scale formed a five-factor structure with an eigenvalue above 1, explaining 66.534% of the total variance. After Confirmatory Factor Analysis, when covariances that provide significant improvement in fit indices are created; It was observed that all of the fit indices were within the acceptable fit values. In the convergent validity analysis of the scale; It was found that there was a high level of significant negative correlation with the General Health Questionnaire-12 and a moderately significant positive correlation with the Life Satisfaction Scale. In the reliability analysis of the scale; The test-retest correlation coefficient was calculated as 0.911. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of the 21-item scale was 0.929; The Guttman Split-Half coefficient was found to be 0.932. When the factors related to the scale total score are examined; It was found that age, primary profession, monthly income, years since professional qualification, Years worked since professional qualification, organisation type and weekly contracted hours were associated with the workplace well-being of the psychological practitioners. CONCLUSION: The Turkish version of Workplace Well‐Being of Psychological Practitioners Scale which is made up off 21 items was found to be valid and reliable for the population it was applied in.
