Soul as psychonel substance and its relationship with the body

The developments in genetics drew attention with the common features attributed to the soul. This situation has brought up the issue of what kind of a relationship there is between genes and behaviors in terms of human psychology and spirit. The study examined the relationship between the soul and the body by considering the definitions of the soul in the context of the characteristics of the gene characters. For this purpose, the soul-body relationship, the meanings attributed to the soul and how human actions are affected by the genes and the soul and how they interact are examined in this study. The concept of soul has been handled and defined in different aspects by many scientific disciplines. While the study tries to evaluate these different aspects, it also aims at a theologically encompassing definition of spirit. With the acceptance of this encompassing definition of soul, a comprehensive and specific model of soul understanding, supported by the observations of many scientific disciplines, has been put forward. This model claims that the soul is an entity that interacts with the body. This model, which is expressed as "psychonel substantial spiritual reality" in the study, is close to the interactive soul-body moderate dualism.
