Abstract (EN)

Due to their electronic nature, NHCs are strong σ-donor but weak π-acceptor ligands. Due to the unique metal binding properties of NHC ligands, NHC systems with chelated and polydentate ligand groups and their binding have been the subject of research in recent years. In particular, cross coupling and arylation reactions are important method frequently used to obtain cross-structured organic compounds. The desired properties of two organic compound can be combined under mild conditions with this reaction. Especially with the catalytic coupling reactions, which is the most important application area of carbenes, the synthesis of many drugs, natural products and ındustrial starting materials is possible. Palladium based catalysts are actively used in cross coupling reactions. While the complexes formed and isolated from the reaction of the ligand class with palladium show activity as a catalyst, the complex formed by the ligand and palladium in the catalytic medium (in situ) also shows a very good activity. With this method, which we call in situ (the formation of active catalyst from the interaction of ligand and metal in the reaction medium), an active catalyst is formed without the need to isolate the complex. For this reason, we aimed to investigate the activity of the catalytic system formed by the bridged NHC precursors in the reaction medium with palladium in cross coupling and arylation reactions.
