Abstract (EN)
Due to the developments in production systems and related technologies regarding Radar Absorbers, they are widely used in many civil and military applications; such as electromagnetic interference (Electromagnetic Interference, EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), reduction of radar cross-section areas, (RCS), and privacy technology, etc. Radar absorbers are metamaterials specially designed to suppress the reflected electromagnetic energy by converting the electric and / or magnetic fields of the incoming wave into heat. In this study, a radar absorbing fabric with a circular shaped conductive patch array positioned on a neoprene fabric with a band-stopping filter characteristic at the central operating frequency was designed.Within the scope of the study, firstly, the electrical performance of the radar absorbent fabric was examined against the different angles and polarizations of the electromagnetic wave, and the two-dimensional (2D) surface current distribution in the operating frequency of the absorber fabric for normal electromagnetic wave stimulation was analysed. In addition, parameter analyses were also carried out in order to investigate the effects of design parameter values on operating frequency. Before starting the electrical tests, at the final stage, the electrical performance of the designed radar absorber fabric on the convex shaped curved structures was examined. In order to demonstrate the accuracy of the results of the numerical analysis, the study continued with the prototype production of the radar absorbent fabric. The frequency-dependent reflection parameter values of the absorbent fabric, whose prototype production was completed, were measured using a free space measurement mechanism and it was observed that the obtained measurement results confirmed the numerical analysis results.
