Abstract (EN)
The effective, efficient, and loss-free use of energy has emerged as one of the world's most pressing issues. When the usage rates of the produced energy are examined, it is discovered that the majority of the energy is consumed in the industrial sector, and when the usage rates in the industrial sector are examined, it is discovered that electric motors consume nearly half of the energy. According to this information, it is clear that the industrial sector is the primary focus in terms of energy efficiency and that electric motor efficiency should be prioritized in the industrial sector. High temperatures in electric motors caused by energy conversion, friction, and other factors during operation reduce the motor's economic life, efficiency, and reliability. As a result, it is critical to remove the heat generated during the operation of electric motors. The goal of this research is to improve the efficiency of the electric motor by reducing the heating that occurs during operation. In the study, a counter-flow Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tube was used for the first time to cool a 1,1 kW asynchronous motor with known electrical and physical parameters and in the IE3 efficiency class. The study was divided into two stages: experimental and simulation. In the simulation study, using ANSYS Motor-CAD software, the results of the idling operation were first analyzed, followed by power and efficiency analyses, assuming that the electric motor is operated in a closed cabinet and the temperature inside the cabinet is cooled by a vortex tube. In the experimental studies, the electric motor was coupled with the alternator, the ambient temperature was adjusted to 25 °C, 20 °C, 15 °C, 10 °C, 5 °C, and 0 °C, respectively, the speed was increased by 95 rpm from 95 rpm to 950 rpm, the loading was run at 100%, 75%, and 50%, and the results of the experiment were recorded three times. Within the scope of the studies, when the conventional fan cooling and the proposed cooling system were compared, the simulation studies resulted in an increase in efficiency of 1,22%, while the experimental studies resulted in an increase in efficiency of 1,79%.
