Abstract (EN)

Morality has held a significant place in individual and societal life throughout history and has been one of the topics studied to ensure social harmony. God, by granting humans intellect, sent divine messages through prophets to guide them to the right path. The Qur'an, with every verse, offers solutions to moral issues and encourages people to live a virtuous life. Proper understanding and application of its verses are of great importance. Commentaries (tafsirs) written for this purpose not only provide an interpretation of the Qur'an's universal moral principles but also offer the opportunity to reinterpret these principles within the context of contemporary conditions. One of the noteworthy works in this regard is Tafsīr al-Nābulusī, distinguished by its socio-literary tafsir characteristics. This work by the contemporary exegete Nābulusī serves as a valuable reference in adapting the Qur'an's moral principles to the needs of modern societies. The aim of this study is to examine the explanations regarding moral values found in Tafsīr al-Nābulusī and to discuss their applicability in today's world. Additionally, within the framework of Nābulusī's interpretations, the study addresses the role of Islamic morality in contemporary societies, along with solutions to moral issues arising from globalization and technological advancements. The study initially delves into Nābulusī's life, family, education, and academic career, as well as the definition of morality, its source, its relationship with faith, and moral crises in the modern era. Subsequently, the moral principles related to individual, familial, societal, and administrative matters in Nābulusī's tafsir are analyzed. The study further discusses how these principles provide practical solutions to individual and societal issues and argues that Islamic morality can serve as an effective approach to addressing current problems. It concludes that the proper understanding and application of the Qur'an's universal moral messages play a significant role in the life of individuals and society.
