Abstract (EN)

Rabia ibn Abu Abdurrahmân (d.136/753) who was one of the successive Islamic scholars from Medina came to the fore with his knowledge even among his teachers. As a member of the Ahl al-Hadith, even though he grew up in the land of Sunnah-hadith along with its place in the science of hadith, his reasons for emphasizing vote also arouse curiosity. For this reason, the premises of Rebîa's opinion were also investigated. When all of Rabia's narrations are reviewed, it is seen that some of his narrations are musnad and some of them are mursal and munqat. As it is widely observed in the early scholars, it is seen that in Rebîa's thought, there is a provision that the non-compliance of the chain of evidence alone will not harm the authenticity of the hadith. However, this does not mean that he did not attach importance to the hadith documents. The most important thing that stands out about Rebia's understanding of the sunnah is that she prefers the deeds of Medina and the umum al-belva to the news of ahad. Rebia said: "The narration of a thousand people from a thousand people is better for me than the narration of one person from one person; Because the narration of one person from another person will cause the sunnah to slip out of your hands." His statement "shows that he valued the power of the established sunnah, which finds a response in society, more than the ahad news." Of course, his preference for the practice of the people of Medina over the khabar wahid is because he considered the possibility of the established practice to be based on the sunnah much stronger than the khabar wahid. Moreover, his view can also be interpreted as saying that an issue that is reported by a few people and unknown to most people cannot be called sunnah. Rebîa counted "narrating from non-Sika narrators" among the things he feared most about the Islamic Ummah. The damage caused by activities of fabricating hadiths and the fact that such activities caused distrust towards hadiths revealed how right he was in his concerns. Among the reasons why Rebîa was a voter, the following were mentioned: He was someone who attached importance to knowledge, had a practical intelligence in solving problems and could overcome problems that no one else could solve. For this reason, he became famous with the name "Rebîatu'r-Re'y". Some people also used this nickname to denigrate the Medina scholars because they used vote more frequently than the scholars of Medina. Rebîa highlighted human mind, perception and thinking, as well as texts, in solving problems. Rebîa said, "Just as Allah sent down the book, He reserved a place for the Sunnah. Even though the Prophet revealed the sunnah, he reserved a place for vote. His statement constitutes the basis of his perspective on vote and reveals how he justified his vote. Many of his students, especially Mâlik, abandoned his lessons because Rebîa expressed views opposing the views of the Companions and Tabiun on some issues, used vote with courage, and did not consider it necessary to accept the views of past scholars. Key Words: Hadith, Fiqh, Ahl-i Hadith, Re'y, Rebîatu'r-Re'y.
