Abstract (EN)

Refik Özdek is one of the writes and poets who worked as a journalist and a translator during the Late Republic in Literature. The author, who was engraved in the Turkish people's minds, especially by his translation of Cengiz Aytmatov, wrote works in many genres such as poetry, novelism , short stories, analisis and history under his own name. As the writer loved to see differend cultures and places, he especially described cultural differences in his novels. The author favors the Turkish history, culture and traditions on a large scale. His works mostly consist of traditional properties rather than modern ones. The yhought patterns and national values he adopts, bring a nationalist understanding bound to traditions into the forefront both in his poetry and his writings. As a result of this perceptive, themes of individualism and society dominate in his poems, novels and short stories. The author, who emphasizes educational, political and social problems in his works, wants to enlighten children and youth and give message to society. In prologueof this thesis: In the second chapter, it is written of the writer's life and art. In the third chapter his works is classified as 1) poems, 2) short stories, 3) novels, 4) works on child literature, 5) other works. In the conclusion chapter, an overall assessment is made on the author's works. Key to Word: Poety, fiction, consept art, tradition, structure, theme, language and narrative elements.
