A semantic and phonetic analysis of Turkish words that passed into Arabic in Reinhart Dozy's dictionary "Tekmiletü'l-Meâcimi'l Arabiyye"

In the INTRODUCTION section of our study titled "Semantic and Phonetic Analysis of Turkish Words Transferred to Arabic in Reinhart Dozy`s "Tekmiletu`l-Meâcimi`l Arabiyye" Dictionary", the aim and importance of our study are mentioned and information about this dictionary and its author is given. In the semantic section, which constitutes the first section of our study consisting of two sections, -SEMANTIC- and -PHONETIC-, the changes and differences in meaning of these detected words are analyzed. In the phonetic section, which is the second section of our study, the changes and differences in sound of these words are evaluated. At the end of our study, there are conclusion, bibliography and appendices sections. In the appendices section, we presented the words constituting the material of our study in a table. In addition, we felt the need to present again in a table the areas from which the words transferred to Arabic. The aim of our study is to determine the words that passed from Turkish to Arabic in Dozy's dictionary and to examine the semantic and phonetic changes they have undergone, to find an answer to the question of the degree of these phonetic and semantic changes that the words have undergone during their transition to the Arabic language and to what extent the Turkish receipt words have deviated from their meanings and pronunciations in Turkish in terms of semantics and phonetics during this transition. In addition, to be aware of the level of interaction between Turkish and Arabic and to contribute to Lexicology and Turcology studies through this effort.
