Abstract (EN)

In this study a recuperator has been designed to use the burnt gas released in Hermetic combi boilers. Numerical analysis has been carried out through the ANSYS program. The recuperator has been designed to have two inputs and two outputs. This system is designed to have one hot waste gas (inlet), one cold domestic water (inlet), one hot waste gas (outlet), and one hot domestic water (outlet). There are 22 plates in the recuperator, and these plates are made of aluminum material. The system is designed as a closed system, and a plastic sheath is provided on the outside. In this way, it is aimed to reduce heat losses further. With the design made, the domestic water can be preheated by the waste gas. According to the numerical analysis results based on the design, the amount of heat transferred from the hot waste gas to the domestic water has increased, and it has been determined that the average temperature of the domestic water has increased by 5 °C. In addition, 4% improvement has been achieved in gas consumption. During the study, the number of plates was also increased, and it was observed that the temperature of the domestic water increased in direct proportion by increasing the number of plates. When the distance between the plates changes, it has been determined that the temperature value of the domestic water decreases inversely. It is thought that the design will both provide energy savings to the user and contribute to the Turkish economy. Keywords: Hermetic, Recuperator, Heat transfer, Waste Gas, Plate Heat Exchanger
