Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYSUBJECT: The aim of this study is the investigation of the effect of dietary factors tocorrect 24 hour urine parameter which is effective for decreasing stone recurrences in theidiopathic recurrent calcium oxalat stone patients.MATERIAL AND METHODS: 108 idiopathic recurrent kalsiyum oxalate stone of260 patients with ürolithiasis who admitted to our department between October 2002 -November 2005 were evaluated. For all of the patients; 24-hours urine analysis was perfomedand detected metabolic abnormality. All of these patients are given diet for abnormal 24 hoururine parameter. At the end of first month the same parameters are compared in the 24 hoururine analysis.RESULTS: The mean age was 42,3. Hyperoxaluria, hypernatriüria and hypercalciuriawere determined in 77 %, 43% and 38 % patients, respectively. Difference between Oxalat,sodium, volume, uric acid and citrate parameters before and after diet were significant. Thecalcium parameters were not detected different before and after diet.CONCLUSION: At the end of this study we found that oxalat, sodium, volume, uricacid and citrate except for calcium parameters could be corrected by diet in recurrent calciumoxalate stone patients. In order to decrease stone recurrences in the idiopathic calcium oxalatestone patients, the metabolic profile of the patients should be evaluated. The diet and medicalpreventive measures should be applied in these patients. Finally we need further studies forinvestigation of the effect of diet in decreasing stone recurrences in the recurrent calciumoxalate stone patients.
