Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the validity and reliability of the Picture Naming Test (PNT), which was developed to evaluate the naming skill in detail, in individuals with aphasia. In this context, PNT was administered to 247 healthy and 35 aphasic participants. Participants were divided into four age (<50, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) and two education groups (1-8 and 9+). Construct validity and criterion validity analyzes for validity were carried out. Reliability analyzes included internal consistency and objectivity analyses. The effects of demographic variables (age, education, gender) on the test performance of healthy and aphasic groups were evaluated. Test scores decreased significantly in individuals over 70 years of age in both groups. It was observed that gender did not have a significant effect on test scores in both groups. Educational status could not have a significant effect on the performance of individuals with aphasia. A significant increase in test performance was observed with the increase in education level in healthy individuals. When the frequency of different types of paraphasia was evaluated through the RAT performances of the participants with aphasia; it was determined that there was a significant relationship between the incidence of some paraphasias in the participants with both fluent and non-fluent aphasia. Finally, the cut-off score of the test was determined. In line with the analyzes carried out; it has been concluded that RAT is a useful tool that can be used in the detailed evaluation of naming skills in individuals with aphasia. Keywords: Aphasia, Picture naming test, Validity, Reliability, Anomia.
