Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions of school administrators and teachers working at official secondary education institutions regarding the concepts of subordinate-superior. The research is in the qualitative research method and phenomenology design. The interview technique was used to collect data in the research, and a semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool and the interviews were conducted face-to-face with the participants. The study group of the research was determined by using the maximum diversity method from principals, vice principals and teachers working in Science high schools, Anatolian high schools and Anatolian Imam-hatip high schools in the central districts of Antalya province in the 2021-2022 academic year.5 principals, 8 vice principals and 12 teachers participated in the research. As a result of the research, it was seen that the subordinate-superior relationship did not have a rigid structure as in the military discipline, according to the vice principals and teachers. It has been determined that school principals generally do what they want, even if they want everyone to participate in the decision-making process. School principals think that they exhibit democratic leadership. However, according to the perceptions of vice principals and teachers, school principals exhibit autocratic leadership characteristics. After the plans are made, the school principal usually expects the follow-up of the process from the vice principals. During the organizational process, it has been figured out that while school principals take into account their experiences and wishes for the appointment of vice principals, they consider more skills and abilities for the appointment of teachers. During the communication process, managers express their subordinates' requests to meet with them as "I will see you immediately unless there is a very urgent situation". Subordinates, on the other hand, stated that the managers responded positively to meeting requests, but they were not very helpful in solving their problems. It has been observed that the administrators do not make a special effort to improve morale and motivation, apart from daily greetings and celebrations on special days. It has been determined that some school principals implement their own ideas when they disagree with the vice principals and teachers.
