Abstract (EN)
In this study, performance tests of a beta type Stirling engine with rhombic drive mechanism were carried out with two different working fluids as air and helium using a LPG burner heater. In order to reduce friction in the engine, rhombic drive mechanism was used. The experiments were carried out at 700±10 °C hot end and 27±5 °C cold end temperature and at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 bar charge pressures. The maximum engine moment and engine power were measured as 12,13 Nm and 578,32 W at 6 bar charge pressure and 455 rpm in the experiments which is carried out with air as the working fluid.In the experiments with helium, the maximum engine moment and engine power were obtained as 11,76 Nm at 552 rpm and 684,39 W at 640 rpm at 7 bar charge pressure, respectively.
