Designing a periodic keyboard with robotic coding and using it as teaching material

Technology integration in education has started to be used in almost every field of education in recent years. In order to reach the targeted point in line with the technology integration emphasized in the MEB 2023 Education vision, the achievements of science and science education courses taught in secondary schools have been renewed and some subjects such as robotic coding and technological design have been added. The expectations of Generation Z, which was born into technology after 2000 and called "Digital Natives" or "Net Generation", from the education process differ from the previous generation. Generation Z children prefer learning processes that are active rather than passive, experienced personally, and in which technological tools are used. Considering this situation, it is planned to carry out this study with the participation of 30 secondary school 8th grade students studying in Kırşehir. The model of the research was determined as "Action Research", which is one of the qualitative research methods. In this context, the periodic table was converted into a keyboard Arduino software and a three-dimensional design was made. By using this keyboard, it is aimed for students to learn the subject of periodic keyboard with technology support, by experiencing it personally, in accordance with the theory of multiple intelligences, in color, with sound and touch, by having fun and by repeating it as much as they want and by making it abstract. During the research process, it is planned to use the Periodic Keyboard developed by the Researcher as a data collection tool, rubric for student observation, learning diary and student interview form (interview form) and academic achievement test. While it is planned to analyze the quantitative data obtained from the research process with descriptive analysis, Mann Whitney U test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Chi Square Test; It is planned to analyze the qualitative data obtained during the research process by subjecting it to content analysis.
