Abstract (EN)
Roger Garaudy, was born in France, the center of Western civilization. Although his parents were atheists, he adopted Christianity at the age of fourteen and declared that he had accepted Islam at the age of sixty-nine. In this study, Garaudy's comments on some Qur'anic issues were discussed and his perspective was examined and it was aimed to reveal his understanding of the Qur'an. The fact that there has not been any study on this subject in Basic Islamic Sciences makes this study important for us. In our study, data were collected and compiled using the documentation method in the axis of Garaudy's books. Thus, his view of the Qur'an was formed from the information found in different parts of all his works. With this knowledge, he started to read the Qur'an and described the Qur'an as a book that emphasizes tawhid compared to other books due to his persistent rejection of polytheism. Saying that the Qur'an has a dynamic structure, he discussed and evaluated important issues that are still discussed today, such as sharia, ijtihad, wealth, mysticism, Islamic arts and philosophy, in the context of the Qur'an. Sharia is not a collection of laws; He stated that it is the spiritual law of God. Saying that the Shari'a has two main sources, namely the Qur'an and the Sunnah, he defined it as the intervention of Allah's will in the life and history of individuals. His jurisprudence, on the other hand, saw it as the most important condition for the resurgence of Islam and the return to the Qur'an. Because ijtihad teaches societies the knowledge of the truth in the name of Allah, and with this truth, societies get rid of the darkness of imitation with ijtihad. He stated that wealth was given to people by Allah so that the divine will could be applied on earth. Therefore, he stated that the sole owner of the property is Allah and that the Qur'an also emphasizes this principle. He pointed out that the source of Sufism, Islamic arts and philosophy is the Qur'an itself. Because the Qur'an is the main source that creates the origin and content of these elements. In addition, the Qur'an is a historical text and not a science book; He stated that he addressed people with symbols and parables. Key Words: Islam, Quran, Commentary, Garaudy, Modern İnterpretation.
