Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, all the texts with Runic letter that have survived to the present day have been examined and polysemy words that have an important place in the vocabulary of Köktürkçe have been revealed. In this context, using the diachronic analysis method, together with the inscriptions found in Mongolia, Yenisei, Kyrgyzstan and Altai regions, the Irk Bitig fortune book belonging to the Uyghur period was examined. It has been tried to reveal the antiquity and development of the Turkish language through words in aforementioned texts and meanings of these words. This study, which is within the scope of semantics, basically consists of five parts. The first and second part, as a basis for the thirth part, covers titles of language, linguistics and semantics. In the thirth part, the term "polysemy", which forms the skeleton of the thesis, is handled in detail. In the fourth and fifth part, where theory meets practice, words that are determined to be polysemy are handled one by one and their meanings are given together with the contexts in which they take place. In order to easily distinguish aforementioned meanings, usage in sentence of words was shown and they have been translated to Turkey Turkish. In the light of the data obtained, it is handled how polysemy words add richness to the meaning treasure of Köktürkçe (and therefore Turkish language) in the conclusion part.
