Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, competition to the Transcaucasus was acquired. Particularly, the politics and competitions directed towards the region were discussed and the independence procedures of the countries in the region were examined. Russia and the region, as well as the global and regional actors in the relations were in place. In the thesis, while examining the region, the realist theory involved politics of these states that try to achieve their own interests in alliances, power balance politics, interests and anarchic situations. It has been seen that working-lean independence has taken a very careful foreign policy to protect its interests against newly-acquired state borders and global actors. On the other hand, global actors are also making their way from their hands in order to increase their effectiveness in the region.
