The book of Sabahattin Ali: Değirmen (The mill) a research about word groups

The most effective communication is the verbal communication. In the communication process, as words are not sufficient alone, word groups are used. Although there have been a great number of researches, thesises about Sabahttin Ali, who is one of the leading names in Turkish literature, and his works, there are a couple of studies on his works in therms of grammar. In this study first ten stories in the story book of Sabahttin Ali which is called Değirmen are investigated with regards to word groups.This study consists of an entry section, three parts and a conclution. In the first part are given inforation about Sabahattin Ali and his life, literary personality, storytelling and works. in the second part informaiton about syntax and word groups are given and are given place to different point of views and assortment of researchers on word groups. In the third part words gruops in the stories are determined and these groups are classified according to their structure. In cocnlusion ascertained word groups in the stories are evaluated and presented numerically. The main purpose of this ariticle is to conribute to the investigations about word groups and giving a voice to Sabahattin Ali's power of articulation.
