Sâbûnî's method in his tafsir "Ḳabes min Nûri'l-Kur'âni'l-Karîm"

Almighty Allah is the one who knows people best, both spiritually and materially. Allah has sent the Quran, which is a source of healing and mercy, so that man can know both himself and his Creator in the best way, and distinguish between right and wrong and live on the right path, without falling into error. Therefore, there is nothing strange in the fact that the main preoccupation of people throughout the centuries has been the Quran. In every age, scholars have made great efforts and produced important works so that the Quran can be understood by their addressees. Although some of these works were unearthed and introduced, some remained in the background. The work titled Ḳabes min Nuri'l-Kur'âni'l-Kerîm by Muhammed Ali es-Sâbûnî, one of the leading names of contemporary commentators, is less known than others. As a result of our literature review, we found that there is no academic study on this work. For this reason, in our study, we decided to introduce Sâbûnî's work and examine the commentary method in this work. Our research consists of an introduction, two parts and a conclusion. In the introduction section, information about the subject, purpose, method and sources of our study is given. In the first chapter, Sâbûnî's life, scientific personality, teachers and works are mentioned. In the second part, Sābūnī's method regarding the sciences of the Quran and the method of exegesis in his exegesis in question are discussed under the headings of narration and sagacity exegesis. In order to better understand the subject, before giving Sâbûnî's views, the general framework on the subject is summarized from classical tafsir sources. Then, the author's views are mentioned with examples. Contrary views on some controversial issues are included without giving details. In the conclusion section, a general evaluation of the research was made.
