Contextual index, functional dictionary and world of meaning Süleyman Şâdi's Divan

Dictionaries are the most important source of reference in making sense of the vocabulary of the period in which the works written in the past were written. Dictionaries, which are the accumulation of vocabulary, culture and thought, show the meanings of words, idioms, expressions, terms and concepts through them. Dictionaries have continued their continuity by developing and differentiating since Kashgarlı Mahmut, which is one of the leading studies based on learning-teaching, understanding-understanding. Literary works have a language that is not simple and needs to be understood. The words that make up this language have a certain environment and context. Since this environment and context differentiate their meanings and values, dictionaries are needed at the point of understanding and interpretation. Dîvân poetry, which feeds on different sources, has multiple meanings. This polysemy makes it necessary for the person who reads and tries to understand it to have knowledge of all these sources, from astrology to medicine, from sports genres to sacred texts. There are many printed dictionaries and studies such as "Encyclopedic Dîvân Poetry Dictionary", "Dîvân Literature Words and Remizler, Mazmunlar ve Mefhumlar", "Açıklamalı Dîvân poetry Dictionary", "Ottoman Poetry Guide" are important. In naming and interpretation studies, contextual index and dictionary studies have become practical today with the conditions required by the age. Through the applications prepared within the scope of the project launched under the name TEBDİZ (Contextual Index and Functional Dictionary of History and Literature Texts), individual or joint studies are combined under a single roof and word / word groups are analyzed around the context they have gained in sentences or poems. At the same time, the first use of the word and the differences it has undergone over time are also observed. The aim of our study titled "Contextual Index, Functional Dictionary and World of Meaning of Süleyman Şâdî Efendi Dîvân is' to create the index and dictionary of the Dîvân with the infrastructure of the TEBDİZ project and thus to reveal the poet's world of meaning based on the vocabulary that becomes visible.
