Abstract (EN)

Köprülüzâde Numan Pasha was born as a member of the Köprülü family, which marked the period of an era, and has rapidly climbed the career ladder by gaining experience in both foundation and state affairs since his youth. In this process, his marriage to a member of the dynasty strengthened his political power from his family. Although he was as high as the grand vizierate, like his ancestors, other Köprülüs, he could not leave the influence and traces left by his ancestors here, and his grand vizierate was short-lived. Numan Pasha, who had a more active political and military life especially after his vizierate, suppressed the Montenegro Revolt and successfully defended Bosnia in the 1716-1718 Ottoman-Australia-Venice wars. After the war, he was appointed to Kandiye, which he loved, and died there. In addition to various foundation works, he also left a significant number of scientific works according to a statesman.
