Liberal nationalist theme in Sadri Maksudi Arsal's world of thought

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the liberal nationalist theme in the world of thought of Sadri Maksudi Arsal. Arsal is an academician and politician who has been active in the construction of the nation state in the first years of the republic, which is seen to be engaged in fields such as nation, nationality, nationalism, law, history and language. Examination of Arsal's approach to nationalism will contribute to research on nationalism and Turkish political life. In this context, nationalism as a concept, Turkish nationalism and its development are examined on the basis of document analysis. As a result of the study, the place of Sadri Maksudi Arsal in the theories of nationalism and in Turkish nationalism will be revealed. It has been concluded that there is a liberal nationalist theme in Arsal's nationalist approach.
