Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of changing electrolyte composition and oxidation time on the wear resistance and structural properties of pure magnesium metal and coated samples using Micro Arc Oxidation surface technology were investigated. After the coating process was completed, the characterization studies, microstructure studies, layer hardness measurements and wear properties of the coated samples were carried out in detail. The coating process was carried out by changing the oxidation time and the amount of Na2SiO3 in the electrolyte. In addition, silver and titanium at certain composition values were added to the coated samples the results of the additives on the coating properties were evaluated. According to the results of the research, the surface and mechanical properties of the coating samples were improved with the changing Na2SiO3, AgNO3 electrolyte compositions and oxidation time, and an increase was observed in the hardness and accordingly wear resistance values with the increasing Na2SiO3 and AgNO3 content. Increasing oxidation time also caused an increase in the thickness values of the coating layers, increasing the surface roughness values of the samples and a more homogeneous microstructure appearance was obtained.
