Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYThis study has been conducted in order to research the factors which affect the satisfaction of cholecystectomy surgery patients in respect of nursing care during the post operational period according to their socio-demographic and socio-economic status and their operational circumstances. The primary responsibility of health care workers is to be able to respond to the needs and desires of patients and to improve their health condition. For this reason, patient satisfaction is important in the provision of good quality health care.Eighty patients treated in the general surgery department of Manisa State Hospital during the period May 2012 to August 2012 were included to this study. Firstly, the patients were advised concerning the contents of the patient notification forms. For the recording of data, the Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale, the patient demographic data form and the Cholecystectomy Operation Form were used. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 18 software program. For comparison of the points between the groups, the Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Variance Analysis were applied.According to the results of this research it was determined that 65% of the patients were women, 45% were between 45 and 65 years of age, 76% are married, 76% are primary school graduates, 58% are housewives, 92% had health insurance, 63% lived in urban areas, and that 41% had a second disease. Additionally, 13% of them were admitted via the emergency service of the hospital, 35% had laparoscopic operations, and 26% suffered post-operational complications.For the Nursing Care Satisfaction Measure, the average merit was determined as 70.46±19.33. A significant variation (p=0,002) in patient satisfaction score was found dependent upon the district of residence. In other parameters a significant difference was not found. However, large differences in satisfaction scores were found between singles with (86,31 ± 13,31) in comparison with the widowed with (69,23 ± 18,18) and the married with (69,16 ± 19,59), the high school graduates with (86,49± 18,06) in comparison with the illiterate with (67,98 ± 16,95), and those ikasyon
