Abstract (EN)

Introduction: Decline in thought and psychomotor processes, guilt, feeling worthless, and constantly thinking of self-criticism. The term self-recovery (flexibility) is defined as the ability of individuals to overcome stress, trauma, negative living conditions, and feel more powerful as they succeed. Under coping '(coping) are the behavioral and emotional responses displayed under the emotional tension caused by stress sources, lifting, lifting or resisting tension. It works to compare the same concepts with different groups and variables. Our study will examine depression with the concepts of coping and stress management as literature is different, and consider that it will detect deficiencies in this subject. The study is a self-knowledge of the nursing, nutrition and dietetics, physical therapy and rehabilitation departments of a foundation university faculty of health sciences, the depression level of the first and last year students. Methods: Our study was conducted with 280 first and last year students studying at a foundation university health sciences faculty in Istanbul. It is a quantitative study of cross-sectional type. While collecting the data of this research; Sociodemographic Data Collection Form, Beck Depression Inventory, Stress Coping Scale, Self-Recovery Strength Scale were used. In addition, the questionnaire forms created were applied to 10 students consisting of 1st and 4th grade students of the Faculty of Health Sciences as a pilot study and necessary arrangements were made. Results: The average age of the participants turned out to be 21.48. Considering the distribution of departments, 31.1% of the participants are in the Nursing Department; In the class distribution, 29.6% studied in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and 39.3% in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation; appears to be. The score obtained from the avoidance dimension in the Stress Coping Scale was 22,45; the score obtained from the problem-oriented coping dimension is 17.58; It was determined that the score they got from the social support sub-dimension was 14.57. In addition, the total score received from Beck Depression Inventory is 30.91; It was concluded that the total score obtained from Self-Recovery Strength Scale is 125.68. Conclusions and recommendations: As a result of the increase in the stress level, the individual uses active or passive ones, which are strategies to cope with stress. In our study, a positive relationship was found between social support and depression. Providing counseling services for students at universities is an important factor in dealing with the solution of psychological problems such as coping with stress and depression.
