Abstract (EN)

Violence, one of the most important problems today, has become a growing problem especially in work areas and has started to negatively affect all professional groups. As a result of the increasing number of violent incidents in the workplace, this situation has become a public health problem for both institutions and employees. Workplace violence includes all kinds of events and behaviors that cause psychological or physical harm that are carried out consciously in relation to the employee's job. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of violence that healthcare professionals are exposed to on stress management and psychological health. Within the scope of the research, the types and frequency of violence that healthcare professionals encounter are addressed and the effects of these experiences on individuals' stress coping mechanisms are analyzed. The answers to the questions asked within the scope of the study aim to shed light on the nature and scope of violence that healthcare professionals encounter, to determine the sources of violence, to evaluate the psychological and professional effects on healthcare professionals and to suggest prevention strategies. This research also aims to provide solutions for the elements of violence that healthcare professionals are exposed to and to prevent/eliminate them.
