Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this descriptive study is to investigation of relationship between awareness of occupational safety and safety behaviours of healthcare workers. The study was carried out with healthcare workers working in a training and research hospital in Ankara and reached to 418 persons. Survey method was used as data collection tool. The questionnaire consists of 3 sections and 18 questions. In the first part, there are questions about socio-demographic characteristics, in the second part, awareness of occupational safety scale and in the third part, safety behaviors scale. SPSS 22.0 statistical program was used in the evaluation of research data. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics as well as one-way analysis of variance, independent t-test, post hoc tukey test, correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis were used. Health workers' awareness of occupational safety and safety behaviours levels were found to be high. Awareness of occupational safety varies according to income level. It was concluded that there is a positive statistically significant relationship between awareness of occupational safety and safety behaviours and that the increase in awareness of occupational safety leads to an increase in safety behaviours level.
