Public announcements analysis in the context of health communication

This research discusses Public Announcements in the context of health communication. The research examines communication, health, visual and auditory expression issues together. The most original aspect of this research is the discussion of health communication, which is a newer field compared to other communication fields, on the axis of cinematographic expression tools. The films are analyzed through scenario acting, editing, color, light and sound design, camera angles and scales. In this way, it is tried to determine the relationship between health communication and visual expression through Public Announcements. In addition, it is tried to reveal the effect of the Public Announcements in the accurate and effective transmission of the campaign messages. Within the scope of the research, four Public Announcements about health communication were examined as a sample. The semiotic analysis method developed by Christian Metz was used as a method in the study. In addition, the examinations were based on the characteristics of health communication and cinematographic expression tools. In this axis, the research seeks answers to the following questions: 1. Which themes were highlighted in Public Announcements examined within the study universe? 2. What kind of relationship do the examined Public Announcements have with the basic cinematographic expression tools in terms of form and content? 3. How do the examined Public Announcements relate to health communication? The data obtained as a result of the research show that the factors determining the success of the Public Announcements about health communication consist of two stages. First, do the films examined within the scope of the research cover the features of health communication? The second is the extent to which the films meet the cinematography requirements. It is seen that successful films realize both of these stages.
