Abstract (EN)
In this study, the mediating role of job stress in the effect of glass ceiling perception levels of female employees in the health sector on their intention to leave was investigated. For this purpose, in this study, the "Glass Ceiling Syndrome Scale" prepared by Sarıoğlu (2018) by adapting the "Career Paths Scale" developed by Smith et al. (2012), Grandey (1999) "Intention to Leave Scale", House and Rizzo (1972) and adapted into Turkish by Efeoğlu (2006) "Work Stress Scale" was used. In the method part of the study, Pearson Correlation analysis was used to measure the relationship between variables, Regression analysis to measure the effect, and Process Macro Regression analysis to measure the mediator role. According to the research findings, a positive relationship between glass ceiling syndrome and job stress and intention to leave; A positive correlation was found between glass ceiling syndrome and work stress. According to the results of the regression analysis, glass ceiling syndrome and job stress were related to turnover intention; glass ceiling syndrome, on the other hand, has a significant positive effect on work stress. According to the mediator role analysis, it was found that the glass ceiling syndrome affects the intention to leave the job, and this effect increases with the job stress factor. Considering all the negative factors and triggers, women may encounter glass ceiling obstacles while advancing their career paths and trying to rise to senior positions. As a result, with insurmountable obstacles, women may have the thought of quitting or quitting their job. However, the work stress that the health sector currently imposes can add to all these obstacles and indirectly affect the intention to leave.
