Abstract (EN)
TT virus (TTV) is a recently discovered DNA virus that is associated with acute posttransfusion hepatitis of unknown etiology in Japan in late 1997. Parenteral transmission of the virus in different proportions in different geographical regions, as well as infected are shown in different ways. The role of this virus diseases of the liver is not a factor identified yet. In this study,we investigated the prevalance of TTV in healthy blood donors and detected a relationship between prevalance of TTV and liver functions. For this purpose, 500 healthy blood donors, 100 patients with positive HBV DNA and 85 patients with HCV RNA positive blood samples were obtained. TTV DNA was detected by RT-PCR. Chi-square test was used for statistical analysis and p<0.05 was considered significant.TTV DNA were found positive in %79,8 of healthy blood donors, %96 of HBV DNA positive samples and %83,5 of HCV RNA positive samples. TTV DNA positive patients with Hepatitis B and C positive group and the healthy blood group in terms of ALT and AST compared with a positive statistically significant difference were found.TTV positivity didn?t do damage in liver alone and the presence of TTV in HBV-group more, can be concluded that the contribution of TTV replication.
