Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of socio-demographic factors and healthy lifestyle behaviours on the well-being of individuals aged 60 years and older living in Kepez, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı districts of Antalya. The reasons of the differences between the well-being of individuals were discussed and the factors affecting these differences such as healthy lifestyle behaviours and demographic factors were investigated. The sample of the study was determined with 5% error rate and 95% confidence interval from the sample whose universe was known. A total of 211 female and 189 male participants were interviewed. Probability sampling technique was used.. The interviews were conducted on a voluntary basis in parks, gardens, market places and households in public areas of the districts. Statistical analyses were performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 25.0) analysis program. Before starting data analysis, exploratory data analysis and data recording control were performed. Collected data were analysed for descriptive statistics as well as T-test for two independent groups, One Way ANOVA for multiple comparisons and correlation tests for intergroup relationships. P <.05 was accepted as the level of significance. TukeyHSD values were examined in order to determine the meaningful difference between the groups. Within the scope of socio-demographic information, information such as gender, age, district of residence, marital status, education level, perceived income status and social security assets were considered. Also variables such as height, weight values (BMI), perceived health, chronic illness and regular drug use, alcohol and cigarette, disability status and medical device use which all related to healthiness, were examined. Healthy lifestyle behaviours scale and well-being scale were used.
