Abstract (EN)

Said Hawwa was a thinker who left his mark with his ideas at a time when political and socio-cultural problems arose in the 20th century. Havva focused on the problems that arose in the Islamic World and wrote works in series on these problems. In the context of these works, he attributed the reason why Muslims lagged behind the times to their separation from the fundemantals of Islam. For this reason, he argued that it is necessary to return to the basics of Islam and that all bid'ahs and superstitions that are contrary to Islam should be purified from Islam. By proceeding in this direction, Havva aimed to gather all Muslims under the roof of a single Islamic State. For this purpose, when Havva's analysis and criticism of the problems are evaluated, we see that his Islamist understanding is centered on the Qur'an and the Sunnah. The content of our study has been revealed by using Said Havva's translated works into Turkish and supplementary resources. . Our study consists of an introduction, two sections and a conclusion part. In the introductory part of our thesis, information about the subject, purpose, importance and limitations of the research are given. In the first section, the life of Said Havva and the definition of Islamism and Ihwan-ı Muslimin, to which Said Havva belonged to, are discussed in order to better understand the structure of thought. In the second section, we focus on Said Havva's approach to society, the state and education within the idealistic framework of Islamism, as well as his view of sectarian formations, is focused on.
