Sai̇d Nursi sociology of family and social ethics

It is necessary to present a new prescription appropriate for the spirit of today against the diseases family institution has currently been exposed to. Such a prescription has to be molded on the bench of Quran and Mohammed the Prophet. The beautiful person of the century, Said Nursi Said Nursi, who shielded his whole life against the sins of current century-end of the world as we name it- sensed the danger over family, and presented prescriptions suitable for the spirit of this era primarily based on Quran and Mohammed the Prophet. Never married in his life, Said Nursi Said Nursi, the person of the century, attached great importance to familial matters, like all matters of our era, and introduced significant prescriptions to the diseased of family institution. The present study aims to clarify and exemplify this subject matter within the framework of related verses of Quran and hadiths. Family life, being of vital importance for both the individuals and the society is the subject of this study and the issues of family life and social ethics in Said Nursiare also studied. The study consists of an introduction part and four sections. In the introduction, we present information on the subject, purpose, significance and method of the study. The main title of the first part is ?Said Nursi?s Life and Works?. In this section, we summarized Said Nursi?s life within the historical process and introduced Said Nursi and his work ?Risale-i Nur Külliyat*. The title of the second part is ?Social Structure and Family?. In this section, we presented a general description of the family, tried to understand the historical process of Turkish family structure by mentioning some family types. In the third part, the title was determined to be ?Religion and family?. Under this title, we went through the historical process of the concept of family and the perspectives of divine religions on family institution. Afterwards, we tried to understand the main topic of family concept in Islam in the light of verses from Quran and hadiths. In the fourth and last section, we dealt with our main topic ?Family and Social Ethics in Said Nursi?. In this part, based on the person of the century, the importance of family, woman-man, mother-father, children and particularly the education of children, the assurance of our future and the moral dimensions of these subjects were discussed.
